Translations of Python book into Spanish and French
With the help of generative AI tools, I have created Spanish and French translations of Data Science for Crime Analysis with Python. You can purchase these worldwide (either in print or ebook versions) in the crimede-coder store:

If you want to see a preview of the books first two chapters, here are the PDFs:
The current price of the e-book is $39.99 and the print book is $49.99. For the next two weeks, I have a coupon for the e-book versions for $20 off (including the English version), so they are only $19.99, use code translate25 until 11/15/2025.
The English version has been out for around a year now, and for some user reviews of the material:
Chris Delaney, Product Owner of Law Enforcement Solutions at ESRI
There is LITERALLY nothing like this anywhere else-For folks with the “think for yourself” gene, this is an incredibly useful book. I wish I would’ve had this book as a young analyst- it provides clarity and task-centered learning in a way that I’ve always found challenging with generic python and SQL materials. I really hope you get some great feedback on this, because I think it is super cool and practical, and would really help smart analysts expand their capabilities in a way that maybe they hadn’t envisioned otherwise.
Iain Agar, Geospatial Data Scientist for the Metropolitan Police
New book for crime and public safety analysts. This makes it really easy for those thinking about or wanting to learn new skills and are unsure how or where to start. Also includes a significant chapter on SQL and how to set up end-to-end products or workflows I began my journey with coding and data science in 2016 after a decade managing mainly with Excel and desktop GIS. It wasn’t my motivation back then, but the biggest reason why I would say it was worth it, is time you save through efficiency. More time with friends and family, and less time burning the candle both ends.
Jonathan Sofley, Crime Management Analyst at North Richland Hills Police Department:
I’ve had my eye on this book since Andrew Wheeler / CRIME De-Coder put this out this year. I’ve really been meaning to get better with the little Python I know and I’ve always found Andrew’s blog and other technical guides and articles to be a big help with my analysis. For those of you that haven’t accessed Andrew’s knowledge I highly encourage you to. Thanks for putting out such a comprehensive book on this topic Andrew. I can’t wait to read it and put what I learn to practice in my department.
Colonel Jérôme Barlatier, PhD, Gendarmerie Nationale France
I’ve been following your website and the Crime De Coder group on LinkedIn for years. Based on your experience, expertise, and passion, these knowledge resources are a considerable professional asset in terms of quantitative processing and data visualization. I recommend that my analysts also read the website, the posts, and the book “Data Science for Crime Analysis With Python.” Using the proposed codes has saved time, improved data mastery, and increased the department’s skills based on a common framework. Thank you for participating in discussions on criminal intelligence, and I highly recommend reading your work.
In addition to the book, I have conducted python trainings in Kansas City and Austin. So if interested in similar services feel free to get in touch.
